Floyd, son of Henry and Josephine Lau, was born Sept. 14, 1883, and died July 18, 1894, aged 10 years, 10 months and 4 days. He suffered over two weeks with scarlet fever in its worst form. He was ready to go to his heavenly home and did not care to get well. The last Sabbath he was able to be about he expressed a strong desire to attend Sabbath school, feeling that it would be his last chance. During his sickness, he wanted to see his friends and everybody. He called for singing and when asked what they should sing he said "Sing something nice" and then soon called for the hymn "Where is My Wandering Boy To-night". The last evening he wanted somebody to take him home. And a few minutes before passing away and when he could no longer speak he pointed upward and when his mother brought things from the cupboard, thinking he might want something, he only pointed higher, indicating his vision of heavenly things. Then Jesus came and took him home. Funeral service was held at the Walter's church, Sabbath, Aug. 19, at 3 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. P.K. Reynolds.
